The FATF Standards Training Course commenced this morning, Sunday, 13th April in Doha, State of Qatar, The course started by welcoming remarks by Mr. Essa Al-Hardan the Executive Secretary of National Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Committee (“NAMLC”) in the State of Qatar, Mr. Suliman Al-Jabrin the Executive Secretary of MENAFATF, and Mr. Joël Godard Head of the FATF Training Institute. The course hosted  generously by the National Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Committee (“NAMLC”) in the State of Qatar and organized by MENAFATF in partnership with FATF.

The Standards Training Course aimed at enhancing participants’ understanding of the FATF Standards on AML/CFT/CPF and to achieve compliance with the requirements of combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism and assist the concerned authorities in performing their duties, and learn about the foundations and basic elements for developing an effective system, and assisting experts and practitioners in the implementation of effective measures to combat ML/TF and improving their countries’ AML/CFT measures.The course, which will run for five days,  is conducted by qualified and experienced trainers in AML/CFT field from FATF, with more than 40 trainees, from Member Countries of MENAFATF.

MENAFATF is keen to hold this type of courses and training programs on an ongoing basis in partnership with several partners to provide the necessary technical support and capacity building on an ongoing basis for Member Countries and update them of all developments in the AML/CFT field.
