ENAFATF, during its 20th Plenary Meeting held 18-20 November, adopted Manama Declaration on Combating the Financing of Terrorism issued on 9 November 2014, and urged member countries to work and cooperate towards its implementation.
Manama Declaration emphasized the need for the full and effective implementation of the FATF Recommendations and relevant United Nations Security Council Resolutions to combat Terrorist Financing. The declaration was issued after Manama meeting on Combating the Financing of Terrorism organized and hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance in the Kingdom of Bahrain. More than thirty countries, in addition to many regional and international organizations including the United Nations, the International Monetary Fund, the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, the European Commission, FATF as well as the MENAFATF participated in this meeting and stressed their commitment to combating the financing of terrorist groups and activities in all its forms.
