The Memorandum of Understanding stipulates that the Plenary should organize a continuous evaluation program in cooperation with the Secretariat. All members should agree to participate to the program.
The MENAFATF shall carry out the first round of the Mutual Evaluation of its members to determine their conformity with the 40 Recommendations and the Nine Special Recommendations issued by the FATF and by using the 2004 AML/CFT Methodology.
The objective of the Mutual Evaluation is to assess individual's existing AML/CFT regime by a Team of Assessors' expert in the field of AML/CFT who are required to review and analyze all current Laws and Regulations related to AML/CFT in the assessed country to define its efficiency and conformity with the international recommendations.
