MENAFATF held in collaboration with the World Bank & the UTRF (Moroccan FIU) a Regional Workshop for Training Banking Supervisors on AML/CFT Compliance Supervision (Phase II) from 21 to 23 May 2012 in Casablanca, Morocco.

The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. Adel Hamad Al Qulish, MENAFATF Executive Secretary, Mr. Hassan Alaoui, President of Moroccan FIU, and Mr. André W. Corterier, Senior Financial Sector Specialist in World Bank.

The workshop was attended by about 50 experts from member countries; this workshop aimed to introduce the participants and train them to apply the Risk-Based Approach (RBA) in AML/CFT supervision, to improve the sector and reinforce the awareness and the use of relevant supervision techniques. The RBA is one of the main points highlighted in the new recommendations adopted by the FATF in February 2012
