The Middle East and North Africa Financial Action Task Force launched the "Risk Assessment of Legal Persons and Legal Arrangements" workshop, in cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, with the attendance of member state experts, and generously hosted by the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing combating unit in Cairo. The workshop aims to enhance participants' understanding of the risks associated with legal persons and legal arrangements, especially in the Middle East and North Africa region, and enhance the capabilities of financial intelligence units, law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders to conduct comprehensive risk assessments associated with legal persons and legal arrangements, identify vulnerabilities and implement successful measures to mitigate risks, and introduce advanced analytical techniques to effectively investigate the field of risk assessment, as the workshop will invite participants to work collectively on practical case study exercises while identifying best practices to enhance and exchange experiences among participants.
