The 9th MENAFATF Typologies and Capacity Building Workshop will be launched Today, Monday, October 7, 2024, over four days in Doha, Qatar, with the generous hosting of the National Committee for Combating Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing. The workshop aims to discuss the results of studies on the latest methods,  trends and patterns of money laundering and terrorist financing, at the national, regional or international levels. The workshop sessions will be presented by a group of speakers from various member countries and observers, and international organizations with experience and practice in the field of combating money laundering and terrorist financing. The number of attendance of the workshop is expected to exceed 200 people.

The opening ceremony will also include the signing of an agreement for the MENAFATF E-learning platform, which is one of the tools provided by MENAFATF for continuous education and advanced training for member states to contribute to developing and improving the effectiveness of efforts made to combat money laundering and terrorist financing.

It is worth noting that the MENAFATF is keen to hold this workshop annually, in addition to a number of workshops and training programs that aim to develop the capabilities of the cadres of the member states in the region.
